THE ASTONISHING CN TOWER

History

July, 16, 1999: 30 Japanese tourists on their way to dinner were trapped in a CN tower elevator for 45 minutes 244 metres above the ground. Five were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and were treated for dehydration and heat exhaustion.

October 19, 1998: An Austrian man sets new record by climbing the 1776 steps of the CN Tower stairs in 12 minutes and 35 seconds during the annual United Way CN Tower stair Climb.

In 1975 When the CN Tower was built, the last thing to be put on was the antenna it was done by a helicopter. It was taped and many people came to see it happen. Furthermore it was in the papers, television and radio. Man, I wish I was around to see that! To bad I wasn’t! -------to all you people who were lucky enough.

Here is a video of the Topping of the antenna done by a helicopter. Click on the picture to view the video.
You will need Windows Media Player or Quicktime.
